3:07 AM

The deadliest tornadoes are the ones nobody hears.

Overnight tornadoes are roughly twice as deadly. Not because they're stronger — because they go unheard.

Phones are silenced, or charging in another room. Outdoor sirens were built to warn people who are outdoors. And county-wide weather radios get unplugged after one too many false alarms for storms that were never headed your way.

Stormbell exists for exactly these hours.

Warned for your address. Not your county.

When forecasters issue a tornado warning, they draw a precise polygon around the storm's expected path. Most alert systems still wake the whole county.

County-wide radio

A county-wide alert wakes every household in the county — including the many whose homes were never in the storm's path.

After a few 2 AM false alarms, radios get unplugged.

Unplugged radios warn no one.

Stormbell

Stormbell reads the actual NWS warning polygon — the storm path the forecaster draws.

It sounds only when your exact address is inside it.

Alarms stay rare. So the alarm stays plugged in — and means something when it fires.

Stormbell supplements official warning sources — layered alerts are the safest way to stay warned.

Features

Everything it does. Nothing it doesn’t.

Polygon-accurate alerts

Sounds only when your address is inside the NWS tornado-warning polygon — not the whole county.

100 dB siren + voice

Loud enough to wake deep sleepers, followed by a spoken alert that says what’s happening.

Battery backup

Keeps watching through power outages. The ring turns amber on battery, so you always know.

One button

Press to test, press to silence. Nothing to unlock or navigate at 3 AM.

Status at a glance

Green means monitoring. Red means warning. Amber means on battery. Readable across a dark room.

Whole-household app alerts

Everyone’s phone gets the alert too, wherever they are — at work, at school, out of town.

The warning finds a way

Storm takes out your home internet? If any phone in the house still has signal, the app relays the warning over Bluetooth — and the siren still sounds. One more path in, for the nights that need it most.

Stormbell+ · optional subscription

For the homes you can’t be in.

Built for the people who bought one for Mom and Dad. Premium features in the app — the alarm itself never needs them.

Every home, one screen

Link the Stormbells you’ve given. Monitoring, warning, on battery, or offline — see the status of every home you care about, wherever you are.

Know it was heard

A warning sounds at a linked home and no one silences it within a few minutes? Your phone tells you — so you can call, check in, or go.

“I’m OK,” with one press

When a warning passes, one press of the button tells the whole family: checked in, all OK. No hunting for a phone at 3 AM.

More than tornadoes

Opt-in alerts for severe thunderstorm, flash flood, and hurricane warnings — a softer chime for lower-severity events. The siren stays reserved for tornadoes.

Every warning, on record

A full history for every linked home: when the alarm sounded, how long it ran, and when it was silenced.

Core alerts never need a subscription — the siren, spoken alerts, and warnings for your home come with the device, free forever.

Questions, answered straight.

When does it ship?

Targeting the 2027 storm season. Hardware timelines slip; if ours does, you'll hear it from us first, and your deposit stays refundable the whole way.

Is the deposit really refundable?

Yes — fully, any time, one click, no questions. It exists to measure real demand, not to take your money early.

Doesn't my phone already do this?

Keep Wireless Emergency Alerts ON — they matter. But phones get silenced, left in other rooms, and set to Do Not Disturb. Stormbell is the backstop that's always beside your bed, always loud.

Should I replace my weather radio?

No — keep it. Layered warnings are the safest warnings. Stormbell adds precision (your address, not your county) and a 100 dB siren loud enough to wake deep sleepers.

What happens if Wi-Fi or power fails?

On power cut: battery backup takes over (about 12 hours) and the ring turns amber. If Wi-Fi drops: the ring turns amber and the app notifies everyone right away, and a soft daytime chirp — never the siren, and never in the middle of the night — reminds you until it's back. Your phones stay an independent path the whole time: app alerts reach them over cellular even when home internet is down — and if a phone with signal is at home, it relays the warning back to the device over Bluetooth, so the siren still sounds.

Is there a subscription?

Not for what matters most. Core alerts come with the device, free forever — the siren, the spoken alert, and warnings for your home. An optional Stormbell+ subscription adds premium app features like multi-home monitoring, for keeping an eye on the Stormbells you give to family. Tornado warnings for your home will never be behind a paywall.
